LOS

Post by BOSTON »

In the past when scanning (tool pointing) an individual unit, a list of spotted enemy units would appear on screen. If that is still true (in the case of an artillery unit) would each one of those spotted units be elligible for specific targeting by artillery? Sometimes a spotted unit may not be in the LOS of the artillery unit. Is there a system in place to determine which is which in LOS? I recall some of the spotted units would be listed in red or yellow lettering, would GB be similiar for we did not have specific targeting then IIRC?

Will there be random targeting as well as specific targeting for each artillery unit and can specific targeting be done through the battery CO, versus individual units of the battery?

Ever so patient; BOSTON

I think it's only through the individual guns, good idea though!

Is the specific targeting targeting a specific unit, or just an area?

I'm pretty sure your ? came up before, when Ironsight was on a quest to have supply wagons blow up, IIRC Jim said that objects, things, terrain, ect. would not be affected by targeting, maybe aspects of that have changed. AS far as "area" goes, IMO your guns would automatically start targeting units of opportunity.

I mean, can you select an area for your guns to fire at, and they fire at the closest enemy in that area, or do you have to select each individual target?

To tell the truth, I don't think the ? (area) came up at the time, If Jim does'nt answer this in the meantime, I'll go back and see what he posted OK.

You have to select the individual target. You can have a gun fire at a specific target, or you can have an entire battery fire at a specific target.

LP

If a battery or gun "has not" been given specific targeting, will it still function (target) like in TC2M?
