Resupplying Troops

Post by Gfran64 »

I was playing the old game last night and it occurred to me that you can resupply troops while they are under fire. I know I've done this before but it seemed out of place last night. Troops were under 100yds and hotly engaged and I resupplied a brigade that was low on ammo and drove the old wagon right down the front of the line. As you know, that never happened historically. In the new game will troops that are engaged be able to be resupplied by the ammo wagons?

Thanks,

Greg B)

Start reading the last paragraph on page 287. Who said those teamsters had a cushy job?

I do not believe that there is a check for under fire, but the wagons are skitish :)

You have to do some of this in your head! You can't expect the game to be perfect. We all should have an imagination...

Oh, well, it would be good if everything could be as close to perfect as possible (Norb!)

Thanks for the link Amish John. That's the first time I've read anything like that, in regards to ammo wagons resupplying. The teamsters must have felt like there was a big target painted on their wagons. Might as well have been!

Norb, you say the ammo wagons are skitish? Can you elaborate, just a little?

I have a question that kinda relates to resupplying troops.
My questions is there a check or something that a commander of a brigade will stop an attack if his regiments are low on ammo?

My reason of asking is because if you our commanding a Division or higher without Takeing Command of the brigades your self they tend to run off wildly without concern of how much ammo they have. Then when they run out one regiment runs then the next gets flanked so on and so fore then half your Brigades end up routed.

Sorry if that was to much I'm new to posting on any form.

That's a good idea. :) Not sure it will get in for release 1 as we are pretty late in development. I have added an ammo check/call for resupply function to the list for future inclusion.
