Animations
Can NSD discuss how the animations will differ (if they do) from TC2M?
You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.
Re:Animations
If I read you correctly, it's really the same. Animation being a series of pictures that describe an action. In this case the pictures are still in the .dds format but the animation and rendering of the models were done in Maya by Tim.
In order to speed things up I would make the models and textures and send them to Tim for rigging through to the final file format.
Lots of huffing and puffing on both sides of the pond!

Re:Animations
Sorry, I should have formatted the question better. I meant the question more from a user aspect. For example, will there be more types of animations. Examples, wounded soldiers walking away from the battleline, gun crew running ammo from the limber to the gun, etc.

Re:Animations
Some of those things were animated and rendered, but didn't make it to the final cut because of file size/game play issues.
Ya gotta be able to play the game first.
LOL
We had wounded walking and still have limbers and manners (though having them walk to the cannon would not be do-able). We even had drummers, but don't go there!
But you will not be dissapointed, I swear.
And there is plenty of room for modding anything you want..... plus the computers of the future will be able to handle most anything I'm thinkin so much of this could eventually be in there.

Re:Animations
Will you guys be adding thing like: Renolds getting killed, Warren on Little Round Top, Hancock getting wounded, and so on.

That brings up a point though. I guess your officers are either untouched or dead with nothing in between. For command purposes though, that may be all that matters.
Josh - Sounds like you're citing history. Maybe Reynolds won't get killed, maybe Warren will never end up on LRT, maybe Hancock won't get wounded. If you remember from TC2M, the officers can get killed. When they do, there is an animation for them falling off the horse. I'd bet it will be similar in SOWG.Will you guys be adding thing like: Renolds getting killed, Warren on Little Round Top, Hancock getting wounded, and so on.

Re:Animations
I think the real question Chamberlain is asking is: Will there be individual officer sprites for Reynolds, Warren, and Hancock (there had better be one of me
).

Re:Animations
Sadly we didn't get individual generals in - again its a question of compromise. We started with all sorts thrown in and then had to cut down as there is an actual limit on the memory any computer can use. Norb explained this to me once but I can't remember the exact technical reason - but basically even the best computer has a limit and we went over the top of that limit.
The animations as Derek says are all new but follow a similar format to TC2M - shoot, run, charge, melee, die, march etc. We do have canons being loaded however. I hope people will like the animations but sadly we can't get everything in that even we wanted like walking wounded, drummers, individual generals, bare footed rebels and lots of different variations on uniforms.

Re:Animations
Well the bright side is that you do have many different Uniforms compared to TC2M.
