Re:Orders and zooming on 2D-map possible, units size?
I see, then it will probably be more difficult. How much effort would you estimate for scaling it back to 1:10, and would you think that could work with large maps?

Re:Orders and zooming on 2D-map possible, units size?
<t>That brings up whether a zoom-able 2D map and orders on that could be modded?<br/> <br/> For the 20k sprites I would hope for someone to take all the detailed maps and merge them into one large 6x6 or 6x10 mile map including the cavalry battlefield with just enough detail to be able to add full a...

March screenshots
I just noticed the new courier message screen, very nice! Is this the way you will give orders to AI commanders? Or is it a "text message" for other human players? Is there specific messages/orders to the divisional and corps formations?

Re:Discussion thread for the SoW-Gettysburg Campaign
<t>A single player campaign that stretches the whole war would be the cream for this engine. I keep dreaming of something a like Forge of War, just with more subdivided provinces (like all counties). Economy and equipment handling, managing your forces and command (bit like the new War in the Pacifi...

Re:DRM
<t>For a CD version with a good old type manual I'd spent $50. I still remember the early times of PC games on 386 with Aces over the Pacific, Aces of the Deep, Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe or Janes Longbow, just to name a few. Each came with a thick manual of 300-400 pages that even included sub...

Re:DRM
<t>Hmmh, how long will NSD support the game, i.e. what will happen if I want to reinstall my game say 7 years from now and don't have my license anymore (case 1)? Or do you plan to patch it after a couple years to DRM free anyways? That would relieve me of a lot of worries.<br/> Sounds then like the...

Re:Some idea's
<t>Sounds like something the community could easily mod. I would prefer new functionality, i.e. game-content over eye-candy. A zoom-able strategic map, where I could select units and give orders... <br/> Anyway, I am very curious to see what new features Gettysburg is going to bring. I hope it will ...

Re:Can we have a full status report?
<t>Norb's position is quite understandable, but I think there is also some truth in Odox statement. <br/> I would imagine that a lot of especially the older fans of this series, who likely started out with games like "Sid Meier's GB", "Antietam", the "Civil War General" Series or even SSI's old game...

Dev Diary - May 2009
<t>Wise words, particulary the two last paragraphs!<br/> One small question regarding AI I have: Will AI handle defensive positions better, i.e. stay in the sunken road or behind breastworks if in "DEFEND" or "HOLD" mode, and face roughly in the right direction determined by the works (i.e. not leav...

Sandbox suggestion - unit arrival
<t>Since so many people seem to play sandbox, and since it allows longer battles deviating from history, I have a suggestion to make for the new Sandbox mode:<br/> <br/> What I never liked in TC2M or CWBR was that all units would immediately start in unit formations (army, corps line etc) on the map...
