it's the lobby.dat file in the work folder that causes the runtime error.

by the way...when copying the work folder into the new GBSOW folder, it caused the crash again, forcing me to re re install. In order to save only the high scores, do i need to transfer only the highscore.dat file into the new folder?

aha. the reinstall to a differently named folder worked! But what does that mean? Is it going to happen again? Also, what to do with the original folder? Safe to bin it now?

LOL. after uninstalling/reinstalling, it went back to black-screen.

One step forward, two steps back. :huh:

hmmmm. even in safe mode i get the runtime error. wasn't expecting that. i'll try reinstalling now that i've restored the system and we'll see if that helps.
