Re: CommandHeight - Need this feature back into the game.

<t>A few scenarios in TC2M made use of the commmandheight function Davinci is asking for (notably the Antietam series of user created scenarios). I think it is a valuable tool when experimenting with the game in order to best flesh out the player's desired command experience. Having a sight "ceiling...

Hunt Them Down at Sharpsburg

<r>Currently in the middle of an open play battle. AP Hill's climactic assault on my left flank is in full swing. Thought I'd post the engagement to this point. <br/> <br/> <IMG src="http://i.imgur.com/4rXsR.jpg"><s>[IMG]</s><URL url="http://i.imgur.com/4rXsR.jpg">http://i.imgur.com/4rXsR.jpg</URL><...

Re: HITS Guide

It is still there. Should be "Move to this map point." The sent messages can be found on the toolbar in the Orders tab.

Re: Any recommended reading on Antietam?

I very much second the Stephen W. Sears recommendation.

Henry Kyd Douglas's "I Rode With Stonewall" also gives a great account of the battle from the perspective of one of Jackson's staff officers.

<r>I usually try to play with some kind of historical constraints. I find it helpful to think of the game as a sort of toolbox for simulation, with a lot of moving parts that can add or subtract different layers depending on your goal.<br/> <br/> Camera Distance<br/> <br/> "Historical" sets the came...

Re: Courier play in GCM

<t>I don't think courier play would work with generals sending couriers to their regiments. I think we could reasonably accept a division leader exercising control over all of the brigades and regiments of his division. <br/> <br/> But maybe by some kind of honor code we could limit communication be...

Courier play in GCM

<t>Great game tonight! I've been away from GCM for a long time, still playing the SP game, and I had forgotten how much better this game is with human opponents and allies. <br/> <br/> I know from forum-lurking that the idea of using couriers in multiplayer was recently tested. What did y'all think?...

I'd like to play, too. I'm in the eastern time zone.

Re: Jackson What if Scenario

There's a date/time tab in the courier menu. Try setting the execution time of your orders in the past--you're usually able to choose the previous minute. What you're describing happens to me frequently (very frustrating!) but changing the execution time often fixes the problem.
