Re: The Ultimate Civil war Game wish list.
<t>I've always enjoyed TW games for the visuals and there's not denying that they're the best that money can buy. The AI in NTW isn't half bad either.. What I don't like in TW games is that they're very fast paced and hectic. No time to think, only to sling your mouse around. Also, formations are a ...

Re: Antietam road marching
<r>I caught one yesterday. In AN08, when you order the artillery batteries coming in from the rear to come to the cornfield, they take a looooong detour half way across the map. I didn't notice this until it was too late to get artillery support in time, but I was able to get major victory anyway. I...

Re: Valverde Map - Released
Well, it looks realistic. When your road is little more than a worn track in the middle of the desert, you can't see it from afar. Then again, when we're talking about a wargame, its good for the players to know where they're going. Good job

Re: Valverde Map - Released
Excellent texturing on that stream! I had to look really carefully to see that it was just the texture. Could this style be adopted in the stock maps?

Re: Europa Universalis III
<t>Yeah, EU3 is realtime with a variable time compression. Getting an MP group to meet steadily at the same time can be a pain. For turn-based action check out Pride of Nations, which covers the time period from the 1840's until the end of the Great War, I think. I have it, but haven't gotten into i...

Re: Europa Universalis III
<t>The way EU3 works is that you start a game, pick _any_ nation out there in the world and start the game at a predetermined date with historical starting positions. After that it's pretty much a sandbox without much scripting to force historicity. Multiplayer is the same thing, only with several p...

Looking at the topic I was kind of expecting something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pm8WSAQdLcQ
I think my wife wouldn't appreciate me screaming "BAYONETS!" at the top of my lungs to activate a charge..

Re: A request for blue textures where water resides
Contrast is what I'd be looking for as well. I sometimes sort of mix trails and streams together and this leads to some rather nasty surprises mid-scenario.
