Re: @ Norb - Maps JPG - PNG
<t>As Garnier mentioned, JPG is a terrible intermediate format, it's better to save your work as PNG, PSD, or TIF, and only use JPG for the final product. And frankly, even output in JPG for use by a game is a bad idea, as you noticed even that can cause noticeable artifacts. PNG and DDS are more ap...

Re: Waterloo Screenshots #2
<t>Good points, Saddletank.<br/> <br/> I wonder if have a single sprite have two or more men in the image rather than just one is a possible solution? That should not affect the FPS, as you are still only drawing one quad/two triangles for each sprite. Would look a little odd when they turn or you o...

Re: How does coop multiplay work? Can you coop vs AI? (waterloo precedent qq)
Co-op vs the AI is one the the great unique features of SOW. I play this way in Sandbox with a particular friend quite often. It would be fun to have some scripted scenarios created with it in mind.

This has worked in the past and recently we've gotten through 15-20 minutes of the game before it crashes.<br/> <br/> We play this way because we like the GCM ...

Re: Game Engines: Any Recommendation on What a Beginner might try?
Unity is quite capable and well documented. It is a bit of a jackknife though, so expected to get a few minor cuts.

Re: Dwarf Fortress v0.34.11 [Links Included]
Amazing game; worth playing at least until you self-destruct your first colony. I ended up drowning my dwarves in a classic cave flood. Also, they were beginning to be unhappy with their footwear.

Re: Windows 8 crash report with log
<t>We played MP sandbox tonight and had a crash within 10 minutes with GCM 745 on ECF. Switched to vanilla (no mods) and had no problems. This is consistent with the behavior we've seen in the past few weeks with GCM and Bugles' mod. One player (me) is on Windows 8.0 and always gets the crashes. The...
